John currently serves as the Executive Director and Founder of Austin Achieve Public Schools, a charter school focused on serving the most underserved students in Austin, TX. John also is the President of Crossbow Educational Consulting, a company that primarily focuses on supporting districts and states implement an improved teacher evaluation process. Prior to these roles, John spent eight serving as a teacher, school-site administrator, and central office administrator in both traditional public and charter schools. John also served as Director for Teacher Effectiveness for a charter network in South-Central Los Angeles. His primary role was to design and implement multiple measures of teacher effectiveness that could be utilized to create a cutting-edge way to train, support, and reward teachers based on their performance. John originally got his start in teaching in Atlanta, GA through Teach For America. As a math teacher John led his students to produce results that were considered "best in state..." in both Georgia and California.
