Together with members of the TLS team, LAUSD has created frameworks that provide clear descriptions of the complex work of teaching, and designed and provided professional development for both observers and classroom teachers, to ensure that, as a district, we share common language and a clear lens through which to view, reflect upon, and enhance teaching and learning, to ensure high quality learning experiences for every student. This work continues to enable our teachers to receive the feedback they deserve in order to grow as professionals.

Duffy and Bernie are deeply knowledgeable, careful, open-minded thinkers who are willing to use evidence from research to refine their well-regarded training processes. As a researcher, I need colleagues who are committed to examining new educational thinking and processes and evaluating the effectiveness of those new actions. Duffy and Bernie are exactly those colleagues! I have worked with them on multiple projects around teacher quality since 2008 and have seen them review the outcomes, information, and recommendations to refine their practice for the benefit of the schools and districts with whom they work.
