Bernie has been an elementary, middle and high school English and social studies teacher, a middle-high school principal, an adjunct college professor, and is now an educational consultant. She has worked with the New England Association of Schools and Colleges to provide professional development for schools around high school accreditation and numerous school reform efforts. Since co-founding TLS in 2002, she has worked closely with large urban districts, suburban districts, small rural districts and state departments of education in the areas of teacher and administrator supervision and evaluation, coaching, embedded professional development, school reform, curriculum, instruction, and on-going formative assessment. Additionally, she has worked with Educational Testing Services (ETS) as a national trainer for Danielson’s, Framework for Teaching, and on various research projects related to teach quality.
