Professional Experience
Val has been an educator for 34 years working as a high school teacher,
assistant principal, and principal, an adjunct college professor, and as an
educational consultant. She has served as the President of the Vermont
Principal’s Association, Chair of the New England Association of Schools and
Colleges Commission on Public Secondary Schools, and was Principal in
Residence for the US Department of Education. She has worked with schools in
Vermont, Pennsylvania, and Indiana providing professional development for
teachers and administrators in designing small learning communities and
providing administrator professional development.
