Professional Experience
Ed has had a distinguished career in the field of education. He has
twenty-three years experience as a high school principal, first in
Weston, CT
and then Branford, CT. Prior to being a principal he has been a
teacher, department chair, and assistant principal.Ed has served as a member and chairperson of the New England
Association of Schools and Colleges Commission on Public Secondary Schools,
and supports the work of the commission as a chair of visiting teams, by
providing professional support to schools, and serving as a member of the
Accreditation Standards and Self-Study Revision Committees. Ed has also been
active in his own state. He was a founding member and three time president
of the Southern Connecticut Conference, and has served on numerous
committees which have focused on high school improvement and reform,
including New Connecticut High School Study Committee, CAPT
Interdisciplinary Advisory Committee, and the Annenberg Foundation at BrownUniversity’s
Secondary Advisory Board. He has presented at numerous conferences on
performance based learning and assessment and supports numerous districts in
their efforts to incorporate standards based assessment and grading
programs.
